Star Colonel Jiln Ch'in was a Bloodnamed Clan Wolf aerospace fighter pilot who served during Operation REVIVAL, the Refusal War and up to the Wars of Reaving.[1][2][3]

History[edit]

Operation REVIVAL[edit]

Prior to the Battle of Tukayyid, then Star Commander Jiln Ch'in served in the Fighter Fifth Star of Trinary Fifth Mixed Services within the 4th Striker Cluster under Star Colonel Charles Dinour.[1]

Jiln was wounded, but would survive the fighting on Tukayyid. He presumably went with his Cluster when it was posted to the Nox system after the Clan Invasion was halted.[1][4]

The Refusal War[edit]

With the start of hostilities between Clan Wolf and Clan Jade Falcon, the 4th Striker, with Jiln Ch'in presumably still a member, formed part of the Battle Group under Ulric Kerensky's command. In September 3057, they attacked Zoetermeer along with Tau Galaxy. During the fighting, the Fourth took almost forty percent casualties and required weeks of work to get their 'Mechs back to fighting order.[5] The Fourth would later follow Ulric to Leskovik, Evciler, and Wotan.

Clan Jade Wolf[edit]

In the aftermath of the Refusal War, Jiln Ch'in was placed in command of the 4th Striker Cluster and found himself temporarily part of Clan Jade Wolf. During which time, his command was assigned to form the nucleus of the rebuilding Alpha Galaxy.[2]

Clan Wolf Reborn[edit]

With the rebirth of Clan Wolf, Jiln Ch'in was now a ristar and totally devoted to Khan Vlad Ward and his plans for their new Clan – so much so that he turned down an offer to command Epsilon Galaxy in order to fight as Ward's second in Alpha Galaxy. By this time in his career, he had racked up an impressive fifty-two OmniFighter kills and fourteen OmniMech kills before he was recognized for his talents in battlefield strategies and tactics.[3]

While his 4th Striker served as the core of the new Alpha Galaxy, Jiln would work heavily with other units, such as the 1st Wolf Assault Cluster, to increase their skills and strengthen the Clan.[6]

All of this hard work would earn Jiln the honor of guarding their Clan's holdings on Strana Mechty around 3059.[7] Jiln was still stationed on Strana Mechty as of 3067 prior to the Wars of Reaving.[8]

His final fate is unknown at this time.

Aerospace Fighter[edit]

Jiln Ch'in piloted a Jagatai aerospace fighter as recorded in 3052.[1]

Notes[edit]

Jiln Ch'in is directly stated to be an aerospace pilot in the Wolf Clan Sourcebook. However, it is indirectly hinted that Jiln was a MechWarrior in The Falcon and the Wolf scenario book. Then in Field Manual: Crusader Clans, it is once again hinted indirectly that Jiln is an aerospace pilot. To that end, it is assumed that the reference in The Falcon and the Wolf is in error as Field Manual: Crusader Clans is a later publication and matches Jiln's first appearance in the lore.
