Galaxy Commander Juanita Thastus was a senior Rasalhague Dominion officer, and Bloodnamed warrior of the Thastus Bloodhouse, during the Thirty-second century.[1][2]

Imbros III[edit]
The then Star Colonel Thastus was the commander of the Eaglesham based 243rd Battle Cluster from at least 3145 to 3152.[1]
In March 3151 Thastus and the 243rd Battle were assigned to capture Imbros III and its functional HPG, in the failing Republic of the Sphere, and despite expecting a strong RAF presence found it only had militia to defend it. Thastus was therefore able to convince Governor Robert Wigley to accept Dominion control as his least bad option, over the Clan Wolf, Clan Jade Falcon and Draconis Combine forces who might otherwise conquer the world.[2]
Star League Debate[edit]
The debates over the Dominion joining the Third Star League however soon turned violent, with the Denier Omega Galaxy and Vega Protectorate forces attacking the Joiner Alpha Galaxy, with only the Seventy-third Battle Cluster escaping to warn Rho Galaxy (including Thastus' 243rd Battle Cluster).
Finding themselves cut off by the Vega Protectorate from the rest of the Dominion, Rho Galaxy and the remains of Alpha Galaxy settled down into defensive positions, which they remained from October 3151 until early February 3152. At this point however Rho and Alpha, under the commander of acting Rho Galaxy CO Star Colonel Esther Gilmour, were becoming desperate due to their limited supplies. This stalemate, partly caused by Gilmour's hesitance to attack the Vega Protectorate when it was not clearly hostile, eventually broke when Alpha Galaxy's Star Colonel Albert Hall convinced Juanita Thastus to challenge Gilmour for command of Rho Galaxy. Following the Trial, in which Thastus killed Gilmour, the combined Alpha and Rho Galaxies then followed Albert Hall in an attempted breakout back to the Dominion through the Vega Protectorate forces on Kessel later in February 3152. This resulted in brutal fighting against Isis Bekker-Florala's Omega Galaxy, until the arrival of a peace mission including Alpha and Rho's actual leaders Galaxy Commander Lars Magnusson and SaKhan Roy Jorgensson.
While Thastus and Bekker-Florala both immediately when to meet their SaKhan, and agreed to help restore peace in the Vega Protectorate after hearing of the civil conflict within the Dominion itself, the meeting was interrupted by Albert Hall. Believing himself to be betrayed by Jorgensson to the Vegans, Hall killed the SaKhan, before being killed himself in turn by Magnusson. Following this conflict, Magnusson resumed command of Alpha Galaxy, and formally appointed Thastus as a Galaxy Commander in charge of Rho Galaxy with the task of assisting Omega Galaxy to secure the Vega Protectorate.[3]
