History[edit]

Dai Da Chi Lance[edit]

Quiet, contemplative and humble, Chae was devoted to the Lorix Order, and spiritual to an extent which was unusual with Warrior House Dai Da Chi. This made Chae a man of contradictions, who regarded all life as sacred, while at the same time high adept at ending it. He accordingly professed to abhor violence, using it only as a last resort, while being a master of seven styles of the martial arts, an expert marksman with a variety of firearms and a lethal MechWarrior.[1] As of 3133, Chae was a member of Lance within Warrior House Dai Da Chi, which was commanded by Hoa Phiri.[3]

Ningpo[edit]

In 3134, Chae was deployed to Ningpo in conjunction with a Capellan engaged mercenary unit, to search for Swordsworn who intelligence had suggested were preparing to attack Liao claimed worlds within the Republic of the Sphere. During a routine patrol of agricultural fields outside of Ningbo on 20 March, Chae's force was however ambushed by Republic Armed Forces regulars in the form of Triarii Protectors including DeBorah McDermott. In a journal written after the battle, Chae expressed great guilt at the resulting in heavy losses amongst both sides, as well as local farmers killed after one of the mercenaries under his command set the surrounding crops ablaze with his Firestarter.[2]

BattleMech[edit]

Chae was known to have piloted a Hellstar BattleMech, serial number WX056-54B. Initially constructed on Arc-Royal for Clan Wolf-in-Exile just after the Word of Blake Jihad, it remained in a Warden Wolf garrison unit for 5 years, before being transferred to the Republic of the Sphere as a part of a technology exchange. It was subsequently captured by Warrior House Dai Da Chi during one of their frequent border skirmishes with the Republic.[1]
