Karl Edwards was a competitor in the Solaris Games during the era of the FedCom Civil War.[1]

History[edit]

A rare native Solaran MechWarrior, Karl Edwards was noted for his role in attempting to cool tensions of the Riots of 3062, Edwards being a close friend of Michael Searcy. He was the one who made his friend realize he was being used as pawn by Drew Hasek-Davion, and together start the plan who finished the Solaris Riots. He also was the one who kill the seemingly unbeatable ex–Clan Smoke Jaguar Garrett at the height of his rampage. A direct counterpoint to the ultranationalism of many stables and warriors in the games, Edwards was a proponent of taking the poetics out of Solaris VII. It was thanks to this stance and his actions in 3062 that Karl Edwards arguably overshadowed Sarah Anne Wilder as Starlight Stables' most famous warrior despite her higher ranking in the Solaris Top Twenty[2]

During the Word of Blake occupation of Solaris VII during the Jihad, Karl Edwards would join with numerous Solaris warriors in the Erik Gray-led Solaris Home Defense League. In a news report from Adam Kristof smuggled off world, Edwards was a member of an SHDL company led by Erik Gray that struck a Blakist Level II defended position at the town of Nowhere on 8 January 3070, while the strike was a success unfortunately the local hero would be killed when an enemy Scorpion stuck the cockpit of the Valkyrie he was piloting.[3]

BattleMechs[edit]

At the start of his career in Solaris he shared with Michael Searcy‎‎ a Centurion with no advance technology at all.[4]

Karl Edwards was most well-known for his fighting at the controls of a Cestus, the only Starlight 'Mech to bear the planetary crest of Solaris VII - a torch held aloft by a 'Mech's hand.[2]

Edwards would die at the controls a Valkyrie while fighting for the Solaris Home Defense League against the Word of Blake.[3]
