Planetary History

Fourth Succession War

Karston was conquered by the Lyran Commonwealth Lyran during Operation GÖTTERDÄMMERUNG, the major Lyran Commonwealth offensive of the Fourth Succession War.[20] The Commonwealth retained control of Karston until at least January 3030, by which point the Lyran Commonwealth had ended the offensive actions launched as a part of Operation HOLDUR and was consolidating its gains.[46] Coordinator Takashi Kurita ordered the DCMS to halt all but the most promising attacks and assume a defensive posture; by the time the war was officially ended via a peace treaty mediated by ComStar[47] Karston had been returned to Combine control,[21] most likely either via a counter-attack or as a part of the peace negotiations.

Clan Invasion

In December 3051 during the Fifth Wave of Operation Revival Karston was invaded by Clan Wolf. Originally Star Colonel Jewel of the Choyer Garrison Cluster believed she had negotiated a peaceful surrender and arrived at Cannon Dale valley to sign the treaty. As she was signing it however the Karston Militia Regiment attacked her Cluster from the rear, causing heavy casualties. Unfortunately their surprise attack had not been enough to destroy the unit, and in their anger the surviving Cluster turned upon the militia forces and wiped them out.[48]
