The Kavalleri were originally a lightweight scouting and mobility brigade of regiments of the Free Rasalhague Republic's KungsArmé. After the Clan Invasion, they became a light strike force.

History[edit]

The Kavalleri regiments were formed as scouting formations for the Free Rasalhague Republic. They often used Commando and Panther 'Mechs.[1] They relied on speed, electronic warfare, and mobility rather than heavy weapons. Unfortunately, their lightweight 'Mechs were easily destroyed by Clan equipment, and two regiments of Kavalleri were destroyed.

After the Truce of Tukayyid, the Kavalleri regiments changed their focus to raids and fast strikes. They hit several Clan Wolf and Clan Ghost Bear controlled systems.[2]

During the early portion of the Jihad, the Republic would be under attack by the Word of Blake forces. After the Republic was rescued by an expedition from Clan Ghost Bear the Republic was offered to join the Dominion which they accepted. After the Republic's friendly annexation by the Ghost Bear Dominion, the Kavalleri regiments were reorganized into Clusters and formed Polar Galaxy.[3]

This process was only partially complete in 3076 when the survivors of Clan Ice Hellion started raiding Republic worlds. Kavalleri, Freemen, and Drakøn Clusters eventually drove the Hellions off of Holmsbu.[4]
