History

During Wave Two of the FedCom Civil War, Ian Dresari led a small force consisting of former AFFC officers and Chaos March mercenaries to his homeworld of Kentares IV to liberate the planet from its Loyalist oppressors, consisting of the Clovis DMM and two combined-arms combat commands from the 5th Donegal Guards, led by Lord Marcus Roland. In a mere three months, Dresari's troops defeated the Loyalists, many of whom decided to defect and join Dresari.[1] The commanding officers of the Clovis DMM were arrested by Ian Dresari in April of 3063 and the leaderless unit was folded into the newly formed Kentares DMM, personally led by the recently appointed Duke Ian.[citation needed]

On January 23, 3065, the 3rd Benjamin Regulars of the DCMS invaded Kentares IV as part of the DCMS Reprisal, which was the Draconis Combine's counterattack against Duke James Sandoval's unauthorized invasion of the Combine. The Regulars immediately engaged the DMM, which was quickly overwhelmed and took heavy losses, but did inflict similar losses upon the Regulars. On January 27, the 10th Lyran Guards, commanded by Marshal James McFarland, landed on Kentares and joined up with the DMM. The combined 10th/DMM task force swiftly defeated the 3rd and took the surviving Regulars as prisoners-of-war.[2]

The Kentares DMM participated in Operation SCOUR and the assault on Terra.[citation needed]

After returning to the Federated Suns, the Kentares DMM was stationed on Kentares IV. The only complete Light Combat Team in the Draconis March Militia organization, the Kentares DMM consists of two BattleMech battalions. They're also equipped with a wide array of salvaged weapons, including a complete platoon of Purifier Adaptive battle armor.[3]

Officers

As of 3065 the commanding officer was Ian Dresari, Duke of Kentares IV.[citation needed]

As of 3067 to 3085 the commanding officer was Major General Liam Grey, he promoted later as General.[4][5]

Tactics

Prior to the invasion of Kentares IV by the 3rd Benjamin Regulars, the DMM had never engaged in large-scale warfare against a RCT, but were experts in guerrilla tactics.
