Kinkakuji Enterprises is a manufacturer of atmospheric aircraft.

Overview[edit]

Based on the world of Kirei Na Niwa,[2][1] Kinkakuji Enterprises produces conventional fighters for the DCMS.[2] Kinkakuji was originally formed in 2950 when two older companies merged, Kinkakuji quickly had a big impact on the civilian aerospace market by producing three different designs of interplanetary airliners that were ugly, but cheap to maintain and reliable. These three designs provided the bedrock of financing Kinkakuji then used to branch out into other areas, primarily the design and production of conventional luxury aircraft for the nobility of the Draconis Combine.[1] In 3025 the CEO of Kinkakuji was Daimyo Werner Jacobsen.[1]

The main Kinkakuji plant is located on a large, rolling plain near the city of Newton on the Needles continent. The location of the plant means that it is frequently hit by unpredictable and severe windstorms born in the nearby needle-like mountains; while this might seem like an adverse environment to manufacture aircraft in, the storms actually allow for the aircraft manufactured by Kinkakuji to be tested under hostile conditions.[2][1]
