Character History

Kisho Nova Cat (b. 3116- d. 31??)[1], is a member of the Mystic Caste. a subcaste of the Warriors of Clan society, unique to Clan Nova Cat. Kisho was bred as all Nova Cat Mystics are, with Minoru Nova Cat as genemother, denying him a bloodname, but he is not bothered by this fact. Rather, for much of his early life, he cannot except his actual role in Clan Nova Cat; he refuses to accept the plausibility of Mystics or Visions in general, and for a great time treats his role as a game, putting on "acts" to prove his ability while believing he really has none. However, as he goes on it becomes increasingly more difficult for him to continue the "charade", and he becomes increasingly angrier and bitter to himself and everyone around him, sparing his rage only for Hisa, a fellow Mystic who he feels a certain bond to and openness with. It is in this setting that his Clan agrees to help Tai-Shu Katana Tormark in retaking the last of the Dieron District still held by Republic worlds, where his cluster and three others are sent as a Galaxy in taking Saffel, Athenry, and Styx, and Kisho's disbelief is put on trial as he must act as a Mystic despite disbelieving it.

Return of Spirit Cats to the Fold

One of the missions given to Kisho while in the Republic by his OathMaster Kanaye, is to announce to the Nova Cats in the Republic who lived in Enclaves and were currently moving and fighting on their own accord and the whims of Kev Rosse, those known as Spirit Cats, that they would be welcome and encouraged to once more be full members of Clan Nova Cat. News of this gets to Kev Rosse, and he eventually meets with Kisho on Athenry, where he listens to the Mystic's words, but does not give an absolute answer to rejoining. This leads to suspicion from Kisho's rage.

Combat in the Republic

The Cluster to which Kisho is attached to is sent to take Athenry, currently occupied by forces loyal to Bannson's Raiders. During this time, Kisho both strikes luck and failure, as his initial "guess" as to where the Raiders are hiding turns out to be true, but it is only a small encampment, and the Raiders continue to make daring strikes against the on-planet Nova Cats and Dragon's Fury with impunity. The Star Colonel leading his Cluster, Tivia Rosse, begins to take affront to Kisho's inability to foresee and therefore stop the raids, and eventually calls in for another Mystic, Tanaka, to assist in taking the planet. Tanaka is murdered however, by an unknown foe in an incredibly brutal fashion, and after this, Kisho departs on a Visions Quest, seeking assistance from the third Mystic, Hisa.

When Kisho arrives to the planet Styx, where Hisa's Cluster was deployed, he recieves a Vision of "Spirit Cats" and "Lesser Dragons" killing and feasting on a fully-grown Nova Cat, and when he awakens, he finds Hisa too has been slaughtered gruesomely. Before collapsing, he warns the other Nova Cats to attack any Spirit Cats on sight, and after several weeks of coma-like status, he awakens on a Dropship, before preparing a force to hunt down Galaxy Commander Kev Rosse and his Spirit Cats, determined that they are responsible for the Mystics' murders.

Kisho eventually hunts down Kev Rosse and a Trinary or so of Spirit Cats to Ozawa, where they engage in combat through the deserts and dust storms of the radioactive planet. Kisho is eventually defeated by Kev Rosse in his Cave Lion, and as the two men, abandoning their Battlemechs, begin to talk, Kisho witnesses Kev Rosse's assassination. Following that, the Spirit Cat warriors under Kev Rosse move to be taken as bondsmen into Clan Nova Cat, believing in Kisho as a Mystic. From this utter pure belief, and his own slowly-breaking shields against his heritage, Kisho begins to accept his Mystic status and the ability of Visions, and vows to take vengeance on the killer of the Mystics and Kev Rosse.

Combat Prowess

Kisho piloted a Wendigo Battlemech and is quite proficient in it. In some of his battles he was even assisted by his powerful mysticism, almost like precognition where he was able to target where his enemies would appear and how they would fire, being able to hit and dodge with great ability. This powerful force he exhibited led to his eventual acceptance of Mystic status.
