Description

The Liberty "Spaceplane" was introduced by the United States of America in 1988. These were designed to supplement and support the Excalibur anti-missile laser satellites. Both units were created in response to the USSR’s nuclear arsenal that had grown in sophistication enough to threaten the USA. These systems carried the First Cold War into space but at enormous cost that caused the USSR's economy to collapse and heralding in a new reformist government. As relations began to thaw military spending on such systems was cut dramatically. [1]
