Lily Orit was, until her death in 3067, a cadet at the Nellus Academy.

Lily's parents were in the medical industry, and Lily planned to follow in their footsteps. By the time she was eight, she was helping at the clinic, and by eleven, she was taking accelerated medical courses.[1] At Nellus Academy, she trained to be a medic, and by 3067, she was a top math and science student.[2]
In October 3067, Lily was part of a group of eight top Nellus Academy cadets sent on what was meant to be a straightforward voyage to Concord with General Gurald Eichner, in theory as a public relations event in honor of Nestor's new refueling station. Less openly, the cadets were meant to help detect a Lyran spy operating at the Nestor spaceport.[3] After setting off on the Requirement on 21 October, Eichner and the cadets ran into trouble: hijackers, the Lyran-hired Bloody Stoats, who came to capture the general.[4]
Lily played a major role in the cadets' resistance, using a bathroom break to set the fire alarm off and attack the hijackers. She was shot in the clash.[5] Surviving her injuries, she was able to treat General Eichner for his own, keeping him alive even through the Requirement's crash on the Lyran planetoid of Phobos.[6] However, while guarding the captured Stoats CO Deimos von Schetzle, she was struck by surprise by the mercenaries, who took Eichner and Deimos. Deimos personally stabbed Lily to death.[1] Lily's boyfriend, fellow cadet Aster Holloway, buried her on Phobos.[7]
