Planetary History

Settled at some point point prior to the Age of War,[2] during the Reunification War Lindenmarle became a target for the SLDF invasion of the Magistracy of Canopus during the fifth year of the military campaign. The Star League Defense Force task force commanded by Captain-General Marion Marik launched their attack on Lindenmarle in July 2582; defending Lindenmarle were the 1st and 2nd Canopian Light Horse, the 1st having been forced to retreat from the nearby world of Royal Foxx in March. These two regiments from the Chasseurs á Cheval faced the combined forces of the SLDF 56th Brigade supported by the 2nd Oriente Hussars and the Juggernaut regiment of the Stewart Dragoons.[1][4][18]

Despite being outnumbered almost three to one the two MAF regiments contested the invasion of Lindenmarle, but were forced to withdraw by the end of July. The occupation of both Royal Foxx and Lindenmarle by the Star League effectively locked out commercial traffic across the anti-spinward portion of the Magistracy and opened direct routes to the smaller, more lightly defended Magistracy outback worlds.[1][4][18] Although the SLDF would occupy Lindenmarle for the remainder of the war, the system would remain a part of the Magistracy of Canopus.[5]
