Exact Class

It should be noted that sources from the early Clan Invasion era, like the ComStar report naming the Lion's Heart, have been known to (mis-)report Clan DropShips of the Broadsword, Union-C and Overlord-C classes in particular as vessels of equivalent Inner Sphere classes, namely the Leopard, Union, and Overlord.[2] This leaves a distinct possibility that the Lion's Heart was in fact a Union-C. However, at the same time, other sources differentiated between these designs and still observed both Clan designs and their Inner Sphere predecessor designs serving side-by-side among the invading Clans.[3] For a lack of conclusive evidence to the contrary, the notion that the Lion's Heart was a Union (and not a Union-C) is therefore taken at face value for the purpose of this article.

Command Vessel

The source differentiates between "Command Union" and other Union class DropShips, and does likewise for Command Overlords and Overlords, implying that this refers to the actual variant or configuration of the ship in question, and not merely its role.

(Specific "Command" variants are known to exist for both the Union and Overlord class;[4] it is unknown if corresponding sub-variants exist of the Union-C and Overlord-C.)
