Major Lori Kyle was a MechWarrior, who served with the Eridani Light Horse, during the Dark Age Era.[1][2][3]

Personal Appearance[edit]

History[edit]

The daughter of career soldiers within the Eridani Light Horse, Kyle was born in the same year of the Word of Blake Jihad commenced, and her lost her parents to the Word of Blake's nuclear fire on Dieron. Adopted by some of the remaining members of the unit, Kyle was raised a Mercenary and trained as a MechWarrior, receiving her first BattleMech at age 23 in 3091. Fanatically devoted to the Light Horse and the troops under her command, Kyle was furious when fighting defensively, and cautious to a fault when on the offensive in the hope of not taking casualties. Despite this hesitancy, once engaged in combat Kyle was decisive, always looking to end the battle as quickly as possible and with the least losses amongst her troops.

A favorite with her subordinates, by the time of the Blackout many of them feared Kyle would soon need to retire, as being over 60 years old her skills had started to atrophy. On her part however, Kyle continued to insist she was as capable as ever, with no plans to abandon the Light Horse family except in death.[1] This vow to serve until the end was kept in January 3145 on Hesperus II, during a Clan Jade Falcon assault, when at age 76 Kyle was one of the last members of the Light Horse to be killed by Malvina Hazen's Clan Jade Falcon.[2][3]

BattleMech[edit]

Kyle was known to have initially piloted a modified Hatchetman BattleMech. She later inherited a Black Hawk 3 BattleMech, serial number NC797-09W. This 'Mech was originally built for Clan Nova Cat, but its MechWarrior's unit was virtually destroyed during the Jihad, with the Light Horse absorbing the remaining equipment. With the ELH, the 'Mech was piloted by six different MechWarriors, with the one being Kyle being a friend of hers known as Kitasha who died in battle. Kyle choose to remember this friend by naming the 'Mech "Kitasha" in her honor.[1]
