Planetary History[edit]

Star League Era[edit]

The Rim Worlds Republic had a secret cache of BattleMechs hidden on Lovinac that would remain undiscovered until Hendrik Grimm uncovered it in the 3040s.[48] In 2784 the Lyran Commonwealth reclaimed the military outposts and administrative centers on Lovinac that had been operated by the Star League. Lovinac wasn't the only world where this happened; using a similar process on all three worlds, the Lyrans also reclaimed similar facilities on both Gram and Stanzach. In all three cases the non-Lyran personnel working within these facilities were offered jobs within the local government bureaucracy, a reflection of Archon Jennifer Steiner actively attempting to retaining the expertise possessed by those personnel left within the dwindling, isolated Terran Hegemony agencies that still existed through treating them with respect.[10]

Clan Invasion[edit]

In May 3050 during the Clan Invasion Lovinac was invaded by Clan Wolf. The planetary defenders, the First, Fourth and Fifth Lovinac Royal Citizens Armored Militia, had secreted stockpiles of weapons and supplies to use against the Clans throughout the Black Death Mountains along the southern continent. Unfortunately Clan Wolf's arrival coincided with a fierce blizzard and the caches remained out of reach for the defenders, who were confronted and defeated by the 3rd Battle Cluster's Supernova Command, Trinary Striker and Binary Fighter at the Black Death Pass, Gregor Mines and the Holy Cut-Off.[49]

Jihad[edit]

Clan Hell's Horses launched an invasion of Clan Wolf holdings in the Inner Sphere in early 3071, acquiring holdings for their own relocation to Spheroid space. Lovinac was seized by the Hell's Horses at some point in March or early April, who then consolidated their hold on the world.[36]

Dark Age[edit]

Lovinac was host to an "ultimate stampede" race in 3129, utilizing megafauna drawn from several worlds. The race became infamous when an Eiglotherium and a Mkuranga Titanodon collided and crushed their riders, prompting the out-of-control beasts to initiate a "grand melee" with the other creatures.[50]
