History[edit]

The Night of Agony was the first Inazuma-class corvette to enter service with the Draconis Combine; manufactured in the shipyards at Dieron, the DCS Night of Agony was in service by late 3058 and was stationed just outside the Pesht system.[5]

By 3067 the Night of Agony had been joined on active service by three sister ships of the same class, the DCS Amber Lotus, DCS Swiping Claw and DCS Winds of Heaven,[6] although a fifth Inazuma-class corvette under construction at the Dieron shipyards in 3058 had either never entered service or had been destroyed in service to the Dragon.[5]

The Night of Agony was destroyed during the Jihad; part of a significant Combine naval contingent that attempted to break the Word of Blake blockade of Benjamin in November 3072,[1][2] the Night of Agony was lost along with the Swiping Claw and the Kyushu-class frigate DCS Luthien in the resulting naval battle.[3][4]
