The Nine Fingers was formed by the merger of several smaller mercenary units. Under contract of the Galatean Defense League to defend Alcor as the world could not be defended by one of the Galatean Defense League frontline regiments.
The unit entered into action when in 3144 a Binary from Clan Wolf attacked Alcor. Major Benito Iqbal divided his forces into three tasks groups of a Company strength each.
