Planetary History

Panzyr II is a cold world, covered largely by tundra and ice caps with a temperate equatorial belt.[1]

Panzyr appears on maps in the Star League era, and at the time was located in the Sian Commonality of the Capellan Confederation, close to the border with the Taurian Concordat and near the worlds of Itrom and Ryans Fate.[3] Panzyr vanished from maps during the First Succession War.[5][10]

During the Reunification War, Panzyr was oft-visited by the Star League Defense Force and it was fought over bitterly in the early Succession Wars, leaving wrecks and debris littering space, especially in planetary orbit. Once boasting nearly a billion inhabitants, by 3026 it had not quite a hundred million people. The orbit of Panzyr's primary world was thick with debris from long-ago battles, and DropShips attempting to land had to be guided through by traffic control from the planet's lone spaceport.[1]

ComStar had a larger-than-average presence in the system. Though they said it was to train new acolytes, in reality it was to investigate the abnormally high concentration of Star League tech found in the system's orbiting debris field.[33]

Aurigan Coalition

Panzyr eventually joined the Aurigan Coalition. It became the seat of House Decimis, one of the Coalition's founding houses, when the Decimis family relocated to Panzyr from Guldra in the late 2950s.[33]

Toward the end of the civil war between House Arano's Arano Restoration and House Espinosa's Aurigan Directorate, the Directorate destroyed the world's food crops and then withdrew, creating a famine. High Lady Kamea Arano sent as much food aid as she could, but half a million people died of starvation.[1]
