Planetary System Description

The Pirate's Haven is a Star Cluster of 50 standard stars packed closely together. The Cluster itself is publicly known to have 7 planets in various systems of the Cluster. All the worlds, publicly known are not inhabitable without special gear due to radiation of the Cluster. Also, JumpShips have great difficulty jumping into anyone star system in the Cluster.

Not publicly known, is a inhabitable world which pirate bands by the thirty-first century have settled.[36]

Star Cluster History

Early Eras History

This Cluster was originally settled by the Taurian Concordat just prior to the Reunification War. It was known then as the Badlands Cluster, which originally had one settled planet named Badlands. Prior to the outbreak of the First Succession War a second world, Lorkdal, had been settled.[2]

Pirates Haven

During the Succession Wars, settlements in the Star Cluster were "lost" with the cluster eventually being considered to no longer be a part of the Concordat. However, Pirate bands begun operating from the Cluster due to the difficulty involved in pursuing forces following them into it. The Badlands Cluster became known as the Pirates Haven Star Cluster by the end of the Third Succession War.[17]

31st Century

During the early 3060s the Cluster was ruled by the Pirate King "Bloody James Kaiten". He and his Pirates had secured an inhabitable planet in the star cluster unknown to the entire Inner Sphere, although it is not known if this planet is one of the two planets originally settled by the Taurian Concordat. In 3064 the Cluster was "visited" by Death's Consorts, led by Lady Death Paula Trevaline. She and her pirates invaded the system's inhabited planet and took over. When Trevaline killed Bloody James, she was acknowledged as ruler of the entire Cluster. In the years to follow, the Pirate's Haven would become the Consorts' principal base of operations. A small 'Mech factory was created in the Cluster, which allowed the pirates to produce a light 'Mech for the first time, the Brigand.[37]
