Colonel Randolph Abasi was the commander of the XI Principes Guards, with the Republic of the Sphere, from at least 3140 until his death in 3150.[3][4]

Luyten 68-28[edit]
In September 3140, Abasi's XI Principes were the Republic's first responders to an emergency rescue beacon triggered by Knight Alexi Holt on Luyten 68-28, arriving to rescue Holt and Tucker Harwell from Precentor Malcolm Buhl's faction of ComStar. Moving quickly to Precentor Buhl’s secret Omega Base Abasi and the Eleventh caught the First Division by surprise, recovering the Holt and Harwell, and driving the Com Guards off the planet.[4][5]
Fomalhaut[edit]
Abasi, with the XI Principes Guards, was based on Fomalhaut as of 3145.[3]
Operation ERUPTIO[edit]
Abasi and the Eleventh participated in Operation ERUPTIO in 3149, the Republic's offensive against a number of Draconis Combine worlds after the Fortress Republic Wall was dropped, as part of the RAF's Second Army Group. Being involved in the reclamation of Towne, Addicks and Ozawa, he first faced serious resistance on Ozawa when the Eleventh landed on 12 April, facing off against the Ryuken-go and the First Ghost Regiment. The RAF however was eventually able to force the Combine defenders to retreat, once ERUPTIO's First Army Group was able to reinforce the Second Army Group on Ozawa.[2]
In May Abasi also led a raid on Mara, fighting against the defending Sixth Benjamin Regulars, during which he attempted to capture the Regulars' major supply depot. This depot was fortified however, and the Hardened Armor of the Combine 'Mechs helped to repel waves of XI Principes attacks. In response Abasi tasked a platoon of Harrier heavy hover tanks to probe a weak spot on the Regulars flank, who were successful in opening a hole in the Combine line, partly due to the Combine Samurai ignoring the hovercraft in favor of hitting more honorable BattleMech opponents.[6]
Death[edit]
During Clan Wolf's 3150 invasion of the Republic of the Sphere, Abasi was based on Alula Australis as of 19 October, when Khan Alaric Ward declared a formal Batchall for the world. Answering the challenge, Colonel Abasi chose Auroria Mines just outside New Horizon City as the battlefield, which he would have to defend against Ward's Silver Keshik. Outnumbered, Abasi attempted to use an artillery barrage to kill Khan Ward, but it mostly only served to infuriate him. In revenge, Ward hunted down the XI Principes Command Company, and killed Abasi in a 'Mech to 'Mech duel.[1]
