FedCom Civil War

The 6th Lyran Guards and 17th Donegal Guards came to blows in 3062. The Seventeenth proclaimed itself neutral, but the Sixth didn't trust these declarations. The Seventeenth responded by launching a quick lighting strike against the Sixth's headquarters. They destroyed most of the surrounding airbase, AeroSpace Fighters, and DropShip pads, but didn't withdraw in time. Instead of a quick raid, it turned into a massive drawn out fight. After several days the Sixth received reinforcements, and the fighting continued. Finally the Sixth was able to bring all their forces together at the base, but the Seventeenth proceeded to drop thousands of tons of artillery shells and other ordnance on the position. The Sixth held several underground bunkers against the Seventeenth, and used them effectively.[32] The 4th Davion Guards arrived on the world. When word of this spread, the members of the Sixth pushed their leaders to surrender rather than die for no reason. Though their commanders disregarded this, whole companies of Sixth Lyran Guards laid down their weaponry and left their defensive positions and surrendered. When their commander learned of this he ordered anyone of questionable loyalty killed. This led to a mutiny within the Sixth as the soldiers, NCOs, and junior officers arrested their commanders and surrendered Rasalgethi to the Allies.[33]

During the Jade Falcon Incursion of the FedCom Civil War Rasalgethi was garrisoned by Brion's Legion and the Kelenfold PTM. Khan Marthe Pryde sent four Clusters of Rho Galaxy to take the world. The Kelenfold PTM was defeated in a month, but Brion's Legion waged a guerrilla war long enough for Snord's Irregulars to arrive. The experienced mercenaries quickly defeated one Cluster, but when the other defending LAAF troops evacuated off-world, they had to follow. Raselgethi then became a part of the Jade Falcon Occupation Zone.[34]

The Jihad

Clan Wolf used the attacks on the Lyran Alliance launched by Clan Jade Falcon during the Jihad to launch their own series of planetary conquests, typically shadowing the Jade Falcon advance. A wave of attacks during the first week of October 3069 saw the Wolves capture Rasalgethi, along with Domain, Jabuka, Orkney and La Grave.[23]
