Description
Rawlings is one of the best known names in Jump Jet design. Disseminated widely across the Inner Sphere for ages, Rawlings series jump jets are produced by numerous manufacturers in the Inner Sphere.
Standard Jump Jets
Rawlings standard jump jet designs have been produced in a number of variants. The best known versions are listed below.
Model 40
The result of a combined Federated Commonwealth, Draconis Combine and Lyran Alliance design program for the CMA-1S Chimera, this conventional system has so far served without reported issues but has yet to see use outside of Chimera production. While the nomenclature suggests that the Model 40 is a final production model of the Model 40-Beta, available technical sources do not clearly indicate the design history.

Model 40-Beta
A very early Jump Jet model, the Model 40-Beta has a (probably undeserved) reputation for being difficult to control due to the accidents among Mechwarriors that were unaccustomed to the novel idea of piloting a `Mech through the air. This model was designed for the BKX-7K BattleAxe and first appeared in 2460.
