History
The Vincent-class corvette Ripper was a Star League Defense Force WarShip that survived the Hegemony Campaign to liberate Terra from the forces of Stefan Amaris, and subsequently followed General Aleksandr Kerensky on the Exodus, falling under the control of Clan Smoke Jaguar.[citation needed]
In 3060, the Vincent Mk. 42 class Corvette Ripper was part of Galaxy Commander Hang Mehta's retreating fleet, operating alongside a sister ship, the CSJ Azov, and Mehta's flagship, the Liberator-class heavy cruiser CSJ Korat.[1]
When Mehta's forces arrived at Huntress and discovered Task Force SERPENT in the system, Mehta immediately launched an attack, ordering the Azov and Ripper to work together to stall or better yet cripple any Inner Sphere WarShip that attempted to power up its K-F Drive.[2] As Commodore Alain Beresick, the leader of the Task Force SERPENT naval contingent, split his fleet into two groups to rebuff the Smoke Jaguar attack, Mehta ordered the Ripper to attack and attempt to capture the lead ship of one of the groups, the Kyushu-class frigate DCS Haruna.[3] The Ripper didn't survive the battle at Huntress.
