Planetary History[edit]

Reunification War[edit]

Risin didn't attract significant attention from the Star League and Draconis Combine forces during Operation UNION HOLD, the five-year campaign from 2581 to 2585 intended to forcibly incorporate the Outworlds Alliance into the Star League, although the nearby worlds of Milligan's World, Prinis Prime and Quantraine were all subject to attacks by Combine forces.[45] After the Treaty of Cerberus came into effect on 1 August 2585, Risin remained a member of the Outworlds Alliance.[3][4][46]

Succession Wars[edit]

In 3035, a Lostech cache was found on the world. The outlaw Blades of Death mercenary unit attacked the planet, savaging the Jureck's Jaegers, a minor merc unit garrisoning the planet, killing all the Jaegers officers and taking the surviving warriors as slaves. The Blades of Death took the cache and retreated. In 3041, ComStar's Explorer Corps set up on the planet, using the installation where the cache was found as a base, and later finding more artifacts and Star League data in the installations.[47]

The Jihad[edit]

Pirates attempted to raid Risin in September 3070. Landing in the Kanshee Forest northwest of the planetary capital, the pirate target was the mining town of Peladona. The pirate landing was detected by the local militia, and a scout from the Third Battalion of the First Long Road Legion, Guardian Corbin St. Cyr, was assigned to investigate, as he was already in the region checking maps using his Packrat. The raiding force consisted of a lance of light and medium 'Mechs and the equivalent of two platoons or more of infantry. Having located the pirates and called in air support from the Third Alliance Air Wing, St. Cyr then took his Packrat on a high-speed run through Peladona, killing the pilot of one of the 'Mechs with a lucky missile salvo and drawing the other three 'Mechs away in pursuit of his vehicle, whilst the prisoners held in one of the main town buildings took advantage of the disturbance to overwhelm their guards and hide in the forest around the settlement. The pursuing 'Mechs were then strafed by a pair of Sparrowhawks from the third and a pair of Clan Snow Raven Visigoths while St. Cyr used his Packrat to attack the 'Mechs and fell trees, limiting the pirates movements. The Packrat was destroyed during the attack, but St. Cyr survived and all three 'Mechs were disabled or destroyed.[48]

Republic Era[edit]

In 3112, the pirates Rasgar's Ruffians attempted to raid the small town of St. Cajetan, only to be faced by field-tested models of the Gulon C. The pirates were overwhelmed by the Clantech surprise, pleasing Alliance Motors Limited observers. The production of the Gulon C was fast-tracked as a result.[39]
