Description
The Roadrunner is the first completely Clan-tech design produced in the Inner Sphere. It sees extensive use in The Republic of the Sphere, particularly as a recon unit. The design was based on (and is functionally identical to) the Clan Jade Falcon Emerald Harrier produced during Clan's Golden Century. During Clan Invasion Era, the 'Mech saw limited action in the Jade Falcon Occupation Zone. Though the Emerald Harrier fell out of use somehow Clan Sea Fox received the plans. The Foxes sold them to the Republic of the Sphere, along with an agreement to provide technical support for the design. In jointed effort between the Clan and the Republic, a factory was constructed on Capolla, where Clan would eventually turn Auxiliary Factory #11 over to a civilian manufacture.[2]
Weapons and Equipment
The Roadrunner is equipped with a massive engine and a fifteen ton frame. This combination allows it to reach a top speed of 210 km/h, more than enough for recon and cavalry tactics. Each arm carries a single ER Medium Laser, allowing it to remain away from supply bases and making it a good deep raider. The main drawback to the Roadrunner is the limited armor. Carrying only one and a half tons of Ferro-Fibrous Armor means that nearly any location can be breached by a single SRM strike.[3]
Variants

Design Quirks

Notes
The original Roadrunner first appeared in a FASA published 1993 Update Flyer. However, the original design was declared Apocryphal due issues with legality of using the name. Background of the original 'Mech was used and updated for this version.
