Selvin Kelswa II was the Grand Duke of Tamar and Carse during the Reunification War. Kelswa was famous for his dour manner and acute intelligence in equal measures.[1]

History[edit]

A powerful noble even among the entrenched aristocracy of the Lyran Commonwealth, Selvin Kelswa's cold and analytical nature won him few friends, but the respect of most of his peers. Many in the Lyran government viewed going to "Old Ice Heart" for an impartial analysis of their proposal something of a right of passage. Archon Viola Steiner-Dinesen named him one of her son's advisors when she took the field in the Reunification War alongside Aldo Lestrade, the Grand Duke of Skye.[1]

Day of Rage[edit]

Eight years into the Star League Defense Force campaign into the Rim Worlds Republic, the Archon-Designate was kidnapped. While the Lyran Intelligence Corps investigated, public opinion was quick to point the finger at Lestrade and Kelswa, both of whom fled the world after an attempt on Kelswa's life. When the news reached the Archon on 10 September 2591, she flew into a rage, attacking both the Twenty-fifth Skye Rangers and the Tamar Tigers at the controls of her Warhammer. Though the LIC investigation would eventually clear both Dukes and instead implicate Graf Henry Gram, the Estates General's Speaker of the Assembly, Viola's actions had driven a wedge between House Steiner and two of its most powerful vassals.[2]
