Shiro Watanabe was the commander of the First Dieron Regulars, with the Draconis Combine, from at least 3145 to 3149.[1][2]
History[edit]
A veteran of the Izanagi Warriors, who served with the later Tai-shu Kambei Okamoto in that unit, Tai-sa Watanabe was appointed to lead the First Dieron Regulars by Okamoto as a counter-balance to that unit's historical loyalty to Okamoto's predecessor as Warlord of the Dieron Military District Katana Tormark. Based on Dieron as of 3145, Watanabe was not beloved by the troops in the First, though they had warned to him slightly due to his habit of refusing to stay in an office to conduct his duties. Always in motion visiting his troops, Watanabe was trailed by a horde of messengers and bureaucrats, whose presence he barely tolerated.[1][3]
During the Battle of Dieron in 3149, Watanabe led the First Dieron during the defense of the world against Republic of the Sphere forces under Paladin Max Ergen, assisting Tai-shu Okamoto.[2]
