Plot summary
Hauptmann Raymond Jefferson leads an ambush of guerilla forces against Clan Jade Falcon forces on Coventry that results in the capture of two young Falcon warriors, one of them MechWarrior Tallara. Offering her bondsman status he takes her under his wing as his aide. Over the next two months of guerilla warfare, Tallara learns much about life as an Inner Sphere soldier. She also develops a liking for the Coventry Kangaroos used by the guerilla's mounted infantry. Eventually, she embraces the prospect of becoming something more than merely a Clan warrior.
