Planetary History

Succession Wars Era

The planet was settled with colonization efforts of the Concordat by 26th Century.[27]

By 3028 Sterope had become one of major weapons manufactures outside the Hydes Cluster. Its industry vital cog in Taurian defense industry. However, the planet was not assigned by major frontline BattleMech force. The planetary nobility used their own funds to raise its own regiment of troops, which was given name of Noble's Regiments. These paramilitary forces, man series of large static defense fortifications which were situated around various and population complexes on the planet. Each of these battalion of infantry were at the command of regional nobility who funded them. Using strategy holding out against powerful enemy until reinforcements can arrive.[28]

Pre-Jihad

In early 3060s, it was suspected that the Word of Blake had established number of instructional training camps for extremist Far Lookers factions near Sterope's asteroid fields.[29]

The Jihad

The mercenary unit Hansen's Roughriders raided Sterope on the 21st of November 3075, one of a number of Concordat worlds struck by the Roughriders as part of a Federated Suns counteroffensive following the second invasion of the Federated Suns. Unlike other raids conducted by the Roughriders during 3075, the Roughriders left the factories on Sterope intact, although they did plunder the Sterope Defense Industries facilities before leaving the planet.[30][31] The military industries on Sterope would suffer heavy damage in later years, and as at 3081 had yet to return to full production.[32]
