Planetary History

Reunification War

By the end of the Age of War Stirling was a part of the Timbuktu Province of the Rim Worlds Republic.[1] and the garrison world for the Third Amaris Legionnaires.[32] When the civil war erupted between followers of First Consul Gregory Amaris and supporters of the Rift Republican Army the Third Legionnaires sided with the Rim Provisional Government and would remain on Stirling for the better part of the next decade.[33]

The Star League eventually decided to intervene in the civil war in support of Gregory Amaris, and assembled Task Force MAILED FIST to help secure Amaris' control over the Rim Worlds Republic. A multinational force headed by the Star League Defense Force, Task Force MAILED FIST was responsible for executing Operation MAILED FIST, the name given to the military intervention. After a destructive raid on Alarion prompted the SLDF to alter its initial strategy for the campaign, the focus shifted to reducing Rim Worlds Army concentrations throughout the Republic and responsibility for formations such as the Third Legionnaires within the Timbuktu province was given to Battle Group Timbuktu, a grouping of SLDF and Free Worlds League Military units under the overall command of Duke Narinder Selaj.[34]

Duke Selaj deployed a force from the 2nd Marik Auxiliary Corps to secure Stirling and the Third Legionnaires; based around two regiments of the Marik Militia - the Second and Sixth respectively - and the First Brigade of the Fusiliers of Oriente, the Marik Forces landed on Stirling in 2583,[33] defeating the outnumbered Third Legionnaires[35] and securing control of the world. While the Sixth Marik Militia and the Fusiliers of Oriente subsequently deployed to Kladnisa in 2584, the Second Marik Militia would remain on Stirling until redeployment in 2588.[33]

Star League Era

Stirling was conquered by the Lyran Commonwealth during the 2773-2775 Republic-Commonwealth War, and vanished from maps during the 3rd Succession War.[10][13][14]
