The database of the (apocryphal) 1989 video game MechWarrior, set around the year 3025, gives a population of 1.546 billion for Suzano and describes the environment as "ice" (out of only three broad impressions of planetary environments given in the game, these being "desert", "ice", or "tropical"). The description one-liner reads "Famous for Ando Bass fished from its frozen seas."

History
In 2941 agents operating on behalf of Captain-General Samuel Marik convinced Vincente Sian-Marik to sign a treaty with the Free Worlds League transferring his allegiance and those of the worlds he administered to the League. In addition to being the planetary administrator of Kyrkbacken, Ohrensen, Suzano, Ventabren and Zion, Sian-Marik was a distant relative of the Marik line; while the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces garrisons on the five worlds didn't try to resist the transfer of worlds, they did engage in widespread scorched-earth operations on each world to inflict as much damage as possible prior to the transfer. As a consequence the acquisition of the five worlds saddled the Free Worlds League with a significant and expensive rebuilding programme.[13]
By the year 3000 the League government considered attacks from the Lyran Commonwealth to be more serious - or more likely - than attacks from the Confederation. As a result the Marik high command removed the bulk of the defending 'Mech forces from Suzano. That left Suzano open to raids from the Confederation, and when a Capellan advance group scouted Suzano later that year they found the planet to be defended by just a few light 'Mech lances and some militia infantry.[1]
The Liao forces promptly launched from their JumpShip and quickly demolished the 'Mech and infantry forces defending Suzano. The victory was so easy that what had been a raid turne dinto a plan to occupy Suzano permanently; however, the Capellan forces had missed the presence of the 3rd and 5th Infantry Support Companies, whose commanders had realised that Suzano was a tempting target and had taken their forces into the wilderness for training. The two companies, equipped primarily with Harasser-pattern hover tanks, began an insurgency against the Capellan forces using a combination of raids and precision strikes that forced the CCAF forces offworld in a little over three months.[1]
