Quick question: should we be updating clan pages like this for 3067 or 3075? I take the Horses as an example since James Cobb is now Khan, not the other guy. Dervishx5 05:46, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

Ideally we should be writing from the perspective of even further ahead, Dark Ages era. This is good example of it being far too easy to date a page by adding world ownership and strength percentages. Cyc 07:51, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, but who really cares about Dark Age? (Okay okay, just joking :P). So what you're saying is we should attempt to get all the eras? I mean as I see it now CBT is pretty much the focus of Sarna, not Darkage. I think if we were to place a time era on the page it should probably be from 3067 updates where we know all the information, etc. Dervishx5 19:30, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
There is information in numerous articles on the dark age era of BattleTech. The information at the beginning of this article should be worked into the body of the text. BTW is not limited to any "current time" like sourcebooks are. --Scaletail 19:46, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
So what should we do then? Dervishx5 20:09, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
My feeling is that the Dark Ages info is nowhere near as complete a picture as the "Classic" era (by which I mean the Jihad, I guess). Nevertheless, if someone has citeable DA info to add that's relevant, they should feel free. ClanWolverine101 21:14, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
Should add what canon information we can get to the article, despite what era it comes from. Second half of the Flight of the Falcon Dualology, Falcon Rising has Horses' expedition partipating in the Falcon's civil war. Herb wrote the Touring the Stars, if i'm not mistaken Clans were covered in it. How much on the Horses, is hard to say. All Sarna articles is written in predence of being written from distant future, further than 32nd Century. -- Wrangler 21:21, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
(Not enough colons yet, :P) Okay, I guess that makes sense then. Maybe we should split the articles up like CBT Catalyst is doing with the eras? So we'd have a their past history (Exodus -> Golden Age), and then Civil War (What we have now), 3067/3075 (Jihad), and then 3132 (Dark Age)? Would be rather extensive but it would cover all the bases. Dervishx5 22:24, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
That the Clan articles should have a history section is a given, issue is more listing things like what units belong to which galaxy and ownership percentages for worlds, things which are entirely date specific and better added to the unit or planet articles. Cyc 23:55, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
How about this, why not have a page dedicate to the Clan's History with link from the main article? They do this alot with media articles on wikipedia, why not here? We have them for armed forces listings for the Great Houses as well. Some of the Great Houses are lacking history sections, while main page on others are full of them. Dervishx, why don't your write up a complete history of Clan Hell's Horse, seperated per era or however you like and then make link to the main page? That would allow expansion while not cluttering up the main page. -- Wrangler 00:07, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
I don't think the article is anywhere close to large enough to warrant splitting it yet. I would suggest using the guidelines at BattleTechWiki:Project Factions to craft the article, free of unnecessary tables and bullet points, and utilizes the information that is already here. Also, +1 to Cyc's comments above. --Scaletail 01:37, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
