Husband's death

"Early on, the Dragoons became entangled in a House Marik civil war and her husband was killed in a hostage situation. This plunged her into a killing frenzy in a retaliation strike and pushed the already formidable MechWarrior to a cocky, sometimes almost suicidal lifestyle on and off the battlefield for decades to come." Removed this part for now, because I could not find any canonical source for her husband being among the Marik hostages. (But I am sure I read this somewhere...). Btw I was the one to put it in in the first place. Frabby 02:51, 8 August 2007 (CDT)

I remember seeing it somewhere, too. I'll see what I can dig up. Scaletail 08:31, 8 August 2007 (CDT)

I noticed the Frabby removed the section about Natasha's husband being killed in the Marik civil war. I wasn't sure why that was removed as I think it particularly relevant to her later actions and psyche. Frabby? Bdevoe 14:20, 14 August 2007 (CDT)

See above. I thought I remembered this from somewhere, but although I've been searching my (admittedly not very impressive) collection on BT books, I could not come up with a source for this bit of information. It may just have been fanfic and I decided to remove the entry until a source can be found. Since I was the person to put in the notion (here and in the Wikipedia entry) I felt it was my obligation to "clean up" again. Frabby 15:09, 14 August 2007 (CDT)
Handbook House Marik page 46: "Anton committed an ultimately fatal mistake. He took the Dragoons' dependents hostage--including Jaime Wolf's wife, daughters, and brother Joshua--and executed them all for treason." IIRC, Joshua was Natasha's wife, but I don't have a source for that. I'm sure something like the Black Widow scenario pack would have some information on that, but I don't have that book. --Scaletail 16:22, 14 August 2007 (CDT)
Her description in Brush Wars provides lots of details, including her Clan career, the Bounty Hunter incident where she lost her Marauder to him, and her relationship with Joshua Wolf. Article updated accordingly. Frabby 07:25, 4 August 2008 (CDT)
Jumping in wayyyyy late, here: I don't recall anything about them being married, but (and I have no idea what happened to my copy) I do distinctly recall that Joshua and Natasha were lovers in The Spider and the Wolf.--Talvin (talk) 10:12, 17 March 2022 (EDT)
I am personally hoping that Den of Wolves might shed more light on this.--Dmon (talk) 10:40, 17 March 2022 (EDT)
I thought The Memory of Pain covered it. I don't remember anything about them being married. --Cache (talk) 10:47, 17 March 2022 (EDT)

Succession as Khan

I'm at odds with with Vlad Ward and Phelan Ward being both listed as part of same "Clan" as successors. Vlad Ward became saKhan of his own Clan Wolf, and Kell was Clan of technically original Clan Wolf (in-Exile). I think this need be re-done to reflect the split of the Clan. -- Wrangler 13:40, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

"Advanced" Technology

I see people putting in mentions of Natasha's Marauder and Warhammer being equipped with advanced technology. While there is no canon source that I am aware of showing the 'Mechs equipping the technology, is there canon source for rumors of them containing advanced tech? (Her 'Mechs specifically, not rumors of the Dragoons in general.)--Cache (talk) 16:01, 1 October 2015 (PDT)

Regarding the Marauder she piloted up until 3014 and which the Bounty Hunter salvaged after luring her lance into a loyalist ambush (as per Brush Wars), it is often speculated that it was equipped with advanced technology. A writeup for the Bounty Hunter after acquiring Natasha's ride (the Bounty Hunter dossier or perhaps a Record Sheets product, not sure where) provides a record sheet for the Bounty Hunter's Marauder featuring double heat sinks, engine downgrade, jump jets and I think 3 PPCs. Some say this indicates Natasha's Marauder was somehow upgraded in this way, but I feel that's jumping to conclusions: The Bounty Hunter salvaged a smoldering wreck after Natasha had punched out, and he's one of the very few people where I could imagine the resources, contacts and motivations to upgrade the 'Mech (which he implicitly had to rebuild anyways) with recovered SL era technology which was rare, but not unheard of at the time.
As for Natasha's Warhammer, nothing is ever mentioned in any canonical source to suggest it's anything but a bog standard WHM-6R. In her interview to Misha Auburn (where Natasha doesn't really say anything anyways) she suggests the 'Mech has effectively been rebuilt many times over and almost all parts have been replaced at one point in time or another. Just looked it up again. According to BattleTech Dossiers: The Bounty Hunter, the Marauder was customized by him in 3015, "subsequent to some heavy damage it sustained during a Periphery mission." The engine was downgraded, weapons and armor added, and DHS came from a Star League cache found during the same mission. That should be the final nail in the coffin for Natasha piloting an "upgraded" Marauder. The Warhammer is stated to be a 6R in the respective scenario books. I'm going to move the "speculation" line to the notes section, and indicate it is a fan rumor, not in-universe.--Cache (talk) 09:28, 3 October 2015 (PDT)
