I didnt have time right now to do much more than get the biography template into place, but that will at least get it prepared for further editing later. --Basara 16:16, 16 February 2007 (CST)

celtic vs. gaelic

Is there a clear opinion on whether it is celtic or gaelic (and if it is, please specify between irish, welsh, and scottish). And afaik, it is not scottish or welsh gaelic. And what is it called in-universe? — The preceding unsigned comment was posted by Onisuzume (talkcontribs) on 21 May 2009.

Judging solely from googled baby name websites, it appears to be Irish Gaelic. --Scaletail 19:06, 21 May 2009 (PDT)
Phelan is the anglicized version of Faolan, which is an Irish name meaning "little wolf." Behind the name for Phelan, Behind the Name for Faolan. --Peregry 20:02, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

Honorname vs. Bloodname

Question : All the "Bloodnames" Wolf's Dragoons uses are actually "Honornames". It was my impression this was true for Phelan as well, that Ulric made "Kell" an Honorname. Is this not the case? ClanWolverine101 20:36, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Not according to Bred For War. Ulric says in his speech: "The highest reward we have to bestow--the one offered Jamie Wolf and the others who ventured into the Inner Sphere--is the creation of a Bloodname. In this vein, I, ilKhan Ulric Kerensky, have created the Bloodname of Kell, in honor of Phelan Ward Kell. He will be the first to bear this Bloodname, a name that will be respected here and feared among those you have left behind." (Page 371) The term Honorname is never used, and it's stated that this is a new Bloodname. --Peregry 06:13, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

He is also the youngest person to win a Bloodname Page 357 (paperback) 3rd Paragraph.98.112.24.234 16:03, 7 June 2015 (PDT)

Mechs

During the fighting on Tharkad, didn't Phelan pilot a TimberWolf? The scene in 'Endgame' where he rushes into the woods and a HG-Barghest gives him hell? Or is that due to my german translation (which is kinda unlikely)? Need to check on this.... RagTag 14:20, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

Yes, Pelan was piloting a Timberwolf during the Tharkad invasion in Endgame. It exactly the same in the English version. -- Wrangler 15:03, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
