Is this material directly from the sourcebook? That isn't fair use, is it? --Locis 15:15, 8 January 2008 (CST)

I don't have the book. Is this plagiarized? --Scaletail 20:53, 8 January 2008 (CST)
If I remember correctly, and I *may* be wrong, I remember seeing something similar to this on the old Phelan's Battletech Archive. I don't know if "Phelan" is still around, and I don't know if he took that text directly from the sourcebooks or not. --Dervishx4 2:54, 9 January 2008 (CST)

I guess I'll have to buy the sourcebook to find out! lol Locis 02:43, 9 January 2008 (CST)

I just checked my old periphery sourcebook. It looks like the first part is copied directly from it with a few changes. I can't find the source on the 3058 Update, Hunter's Paradise, and 3060 Update, so it may original material. --Dervishx4 2:56, 9 January 2008 (CST)

Hmm, this raises some questions. I know Phelan's Battletech Archive WAS public domain. And considering the text is from the first edition Periphery Sourcebook, I'm not really sure if Catalyst would mind at this point. Also, the same text appears on Netbattletech's Website under their encyclopedia section. It seems they got Phelan's permission to post this stuff on their website. But, of course, Phelan's Battletech Page doesn't exist anymore as far as I can tell. Interesting dilemma. --Dervishx4 2:58, 9 January 2008 (CST)

Since the first section is confirmed as plagiarism, I will remove it. --Scaletail 18:50, 9 January 2008 (CST)
