OK, so I've edited this page twice concerning the nature of ICE superchargers, and it keeps getting reversed. The stated reason for this reversal was that Btech sources reference "chemicals" as the mechics behind ICE suprechargers. My question is, where in the literature does it say that? -Will Avon — The preceding unsigned comment was posted by William Avon (talkcontribs) on 7 June 2010.

Dice Roll[edit]

Shouldn't we include the appropriate dice roll in the game notes? Thanks. ClanWolverine101 18:51, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

Actually, no, CW. We can reference the need to roll dice, but not give the specific game mechanics. For example, in a unit article, I may write about the unit enjoying a positive initiative modifier, but not reveal what that actual modifier is. It is up to the reader to go to the cited source to get it.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 23:17, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

Direct Quote[edit]

Normally loath to do this, but direct quote from Tactical Operations -

Essentially an override for the normal safety governors that limit modern engine performance, superchargers can coax as much as 125 percent output from fusion reactors and internal combustion engines alike. For fusion and fission plants, this generally entails disabling safety inhibitors and the like, while fuel-based systems inject a burst of specially designed chemicals into the fuel mix to achieve similar results. As might be expected, use of a supercharger carries significant risks to the engine’s integrity, up to and including supercharger burnout or even catastrophic engine failure.[1]

Given that this page has been edited more than once by people who keep confusing the BattleTech superchargers with real-world superchargers, maybe this is one of those pages that should be locked to prevent future editing, just to save further confusion?
