:Hey MahiMahi, welcome aboard, The way we would handle this on the wiki would usually be to have the date from the GDL sourcebook (24 March) in the text of the article as it is stated fact as far as in universe fluff goes but then in the Notes section of the article it can be pointed out that per actual game rules the dates work out differently. BUT, I have not read Price of Glory in a number of years but there are some factors to consider and maybe double check for, like the posability of pirate points being used or there being a handoff at some point where the dropships move onto a different already charged up Jumpship.--[[User:Dmon|Dmon]] ([[User talk:Dmon|talk]]) 04:57, 21 March 2019 (EDT)

Sirius massacre date[edit]

In an effort to determine the Sirius massacre date I've back tracked transit times using the tables in Campaign Ops p. 100 and burn times for a 2.5G transit in a Union (Strat Ops p. 258). When a contradiction in recharge time exists I use Campaign Ops time as it is the most recent source. I haven't accounted for Jump Calculations or Jump Process as it's both variable and not time intense.

Plantside on Sirius to Nadir/Zenith is 47.05 days. Jumpship charged by the time it gets there, jump to Oliver. Recharge 206hr, jump to New Dallas. Recharge 199hr, jump to AlHena. Recharge 166hr, jump to Kalidasa. Recharge 182hr, jump to Amity. Recharge 203hr, jump to Helm. A 2.5G burn in a K4 system is 89.6hr.

The GDL sourcebook says landfall at Helm on 24 March. That would put the Tiantan Massacre on 25 December 3027. Christmas, bummer.

As I'm a new editor I'd like to have a double check on this before I make a new Note.

Good research there. I hadn't realized before that Sirius has such immense transit times.
Still, the timeline you suggest is highly arbitrary. In particular, the DropShip wouldn't have traveled under 2.5g for such extended periods. If it did, the MechWarriors would be in no condition to fight upon arriving at Helm. I don't think a Union even carries enough fuel to operate at maximum overthrust for extended periods of time either. And there's too many other variables. We don't know the jump route that was taken. So ultimately, while I do think your calculations are worth a note in the article, it should be made clear that they're ultimately just educated guesswork and provide a ballpark date. (Re-checking the info from the scenario pack, the campaign against Liao began in 3026 and lasted for over a year so late 2027 seems about right.) Frabby (talk) 04:33, 22 March 2019 (EDT)
