Size[edit]

I've posed a question about the size of VII Corps during the Reunification War over at the Ask The Writers forum because the quoted size in Historical: Reunification War is absolutely nuts. If the entry on page 94 is correct, as I initially quoted in this article, then VII Corps was three to four times the size of the other Corps; the force listings for the Outworlds Alliance and Taurian Concordat campaign show the other corps as having a strength of 9 BattleMech regiments, 9 Armor regiments, 9 Infantry regiments and 3 AeroSpace regiments each. This matches the doctrine of 3 regiments plus air wing to a brigade, and 3 brigades to a division. The quoted figure in Historical: Reunification War makes VII Corps pretty much the same size as the entire SLDF Taurian Concordat Task Force. BrokenMnemonic 04:01, 18 January 2012 (PST)

Chris Hartford has posted an explanation on the CGL website, which I've quoted in the article. BrokenMnemonic 10:59, 19 January 2012 (PST)
While a bit 'disproportionate' to typical note entries [that last statement fragment is an homage to your note], I like what you did with it, especially providing the quote. Once of my concerns about 'proof' on this site is when we link to CGL's forums, as they tend to do re-boots (for one reason or another) every coupla-three years.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 04:41, 22 January 2012 (PST)
Whoops, I didn't notice there was a comment here. Sorry about that.
I've used this format for referencing comments made over on the Ask The Writers/Ask the Developers forums on the CGL website before, when I was tracking down those planets with two names that appear and disappear on maps. My thought was that while CGL only interact with the fans on the site, if we want this to become an exhaustive resource for writers and fans, we should be tracking the responses CGL make to questions that aren't fatuous/already in the text and recording them here. So, that's what I've been doing, although only in a very slow and piecemeal fashion. BrokenMnemonic 04:59, 1 February 2012 (PST)
