System Information

The system named The Rack was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as at 3145 was located in the bandit kingdom known as the Rim Territories.[1][2]

System Description

The system named The Rack is located near the Luanda and Pain systems.[3][4]

System History

Originally named Port Vail, The Rack was either colonised by the Rim Worlds Republic during or shortly before the Age of War, or was an already-inhabited system that was incorported into the Republic's Finmark Province during this period and which was considered significant enough to have its location recorded by Inner Sphere nations.[5][6][7]

Port Vail was conquered by the Lyran Commonwealth during the Republic-Commonwealth War and vanished from maps during the Second Succession War, indicating that the system had been abandoned, depopulated, or simply rendered too insignificant to merit further recording.[8][9] Port Vail reappeared on maps as an independent system during the Clan Invasion era, with a new name - The Rack.[10][11][12]
