Description

Although suited more for space combat since the stubby wings do not provide the maneuverability needed for atmospheric combat, the Transgressor is still highly considered among House Liao air lances. Compact with heavy armor, the Transgressor can stay in the fight long after other units have to withdraw due to damage. The energy weapon reliance does make it hard to control heat buildup, with the laser batteries typically fired in salvos to give the heat sinks time to cool the craft.

Weapons and Equipment

The Transgressor is an energy weapon-only design in its original configuration. One Selitex Radionic Large Laser and one Kajuka Type 2 Medium Laser in the nose, with this pattern copied on each wing. The final Medium Laser is rear mounted.

Variants

  • TR-13A
Appearing shortly after the engagement of Sun-Tzu Liao and Isis Marik, this variant exchanges the heat sinks for doubles and the Large Lasers for ER versions. BV (1.0) = 1,678[5][6], BV (2.0) = 1,664
  • TR-14
Removing the three Large Lasers and one ton of armor, the 14AC version replaces them with an Autocannon/20 and ten rounds of ammunition. While stopping heat buildup problems, this leaves the Transgressor lightly armed after the AC/20 ammo has been expended. BV (1.0) = 1,185[7][8], BV (2.0) = 1,179
  • TR-16
A refit kit for the TR-14, this variant uses twin nose mounted Gauss rifles with three tons of ammo. BV (1.0) = 1,937[10], BV (2.0) = 1,987
