Welcome

Welcome, Dielgore, to BattleTechWiki!

Thank you for your contributions; you seem to be off to a good start. Hopefully you will soon join the army of BattleTech Editors! If you need help formatting the pages visit the manual of style. For general questions go to the Help section or the FAQ. If you can't find your answer there, please ask an Admin. If you have any more questions after that, feel free to ask me directly on my user talk page.

Additional tips

Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the wiki:

  • For policies and guidelines, see The Five Pillars of BattleTechWiki.
  • If you want to play around with your new wiki skills, the Sandbox is for you. Don't worry: you won't break anything. A great resource for printing out is the Wiki Cheat Sheet.
  • Consider registering at the site (if you haven't already). That way, you'll get name recognition and respect for the effort you put in here.
  • Also considering writing something about yourself on your UserPage (marked as Dielgore at the top of the page). You'll go from being a 'redshirt' to a 'blueshirt,' with the respect of a more permanent member.
  • Introduce yourself at the new user log.
  • In your Preferences, under the edit tab, check Add pages I create to my watchlist and Add pages I edit to my watchlist, so that you can see how your efforts have affected the community. Check back on each visit by clicking on my watchlist.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random button in the sidebar, or check out the List of Wanted Pages. Or even go to Special Pages to see what weird stuff is actually tracked by this wiki.
  • Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date.

*******Be Bold*******

You can find me at my user page or talk page for any questions. Happy editing, and we'll see ya 'round. Smile icon.png

Remember to sign

As a courtesy for other Editors, it is a BattleTechWiki guideline to sign your talk page and user talk page posts. To do so simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments; you can also use the 3rd button on the left of the edit bar (Signature icon.png) to automatically place it in the location of your cursor. Your user name (or IP address, if you are editing anonymously) and the date will be automatically added along with a timestamp. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). For further info see the talk page guidelines. Thank you.

Category:BattleMechsCustom

Hey, Dielgore. Thanks for your article on the Gatling. I'm unfamiliar with the multitude of graphics for the newer canon 'Mechs, but if this is a custom-drawing, it is simply spectacular. I've adapted your article on your custom 'Mech so that it will display in the category it would generally be associated with (i.e., custom 'Mechs). Per our Canon policy, "BattleTechWiki Editors strongly enforce the segregation of fan creations from the other articles...We also ask that fan created articles not be included in any categories that does not have a derivative of the word 'fan' or 'custom' in the category name." I realize that the nature of wikis sometimes means that determining a policy may sometimes be difficult, so please don't feel that you violated any in-stone principles. Instead, I've just corrected the issue and again thank you for your help on the BTW project. --Revanche (talk|contribs) 00:30, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Sadly - the Gatling was the same as the leggionare - once we found the proper name - we corrected with a redirect.
thanks tho!--Dielgore 03:24, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, kinda embarrassed to admit I should have looked at the file name before saying that. BTW, I didn't know that was you that did the redirect, so I reverted it (since only you are authorized to do redirect on your fanon article. However, since you stated that you indeed did do it, I'll revert the revert. :P --Revanche (talk|contribs) 04:02, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

you guys are certainly on the ball! The site doesn't keep me logged in, and i sometimes forget before posting ;) I've tried to be more cognizant of that recently.

References

Hey, just heads up: you don't need to put that much effort into those references, as you did on Penetrator. Per Help:References (which will be going through a medium-level updating shortly), just linking to the book's BTW article will provide all the publishing data (author, publisher, ISBN, etc), while you can add the relevant pages (where applicable) and/or section title. There is nothing wrong with providing that information (I generally don't tell people they are including TOO much info Tongue.gif); I just didn't want you to burn yourself out duplicating work. BTW, great job improving that article. --Revanche (talk|contribs) 19:53, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

book's BTW article

I don't mind doing the sources :) I was re-reading the 92 books and thought - heck, i could update things :)

I am trying to balance pulling out on the "facts" so to speak.

Good to hear. I was mulling that you might think I was trying to correct you. --Revanche (talk|contribs) 04:29, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

Jaime Wolf

That's an awesome image you found. What was the source?--Revanche (talk|contribs) 16:53, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
