Question

Hy, why is the most of the content in latain, italian writen.--Doneve 23:27, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

The term is "Greeking". It is randomly generated gibberish. The greeking is a place-holder showing where body text will be inserted. This way I can see what the end result will look like before the text is actually written. It is a very old printmaking practice, dating back to early days of newspaper production. See, I would've felt a little devilish and answered: "We've decided to switch to Latin as the language of choice for BTW. This way, we know you're a dedicated BattleTech fan if you decide to learn the language in order to use it. Regulae pueris fan!!" --Revanche (talk|contribs) 23:13, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
LOL! Imp... Granted, there is the dictum: "Quid quid latine dictum sit, altum videtur." ; ) Something kind of funny, I once ran out of time writing a paper and accidentally left a few paragraphs of greeking deep in the body text due to lack of proofreading. When I got the paper back there was no red mark, no comment, no acknowledgment even that it was there. I suspect the prof really wasn't reading all of the papers. 8| -- LRichardson 20:10, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

Standards

I'm hoping to write a few more of these to make a body of work that gives some kind of standard for the types of essays to fill the User Essays category with... Any comments and corrections would be welcomed. -- LRichardson 02:24, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
