The Vipaava system was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as at 3145 was located in the Rasalhague Province of the Rasalhague Dominion.[1][2]

System Description

The Vipaava system is located near the Pomme De Terre and Radlje systems.[1][2]

System History

The Vipaava system was colonised at some point prior to the end of the Reunification War.[3]

Clan Invasion

In August 3050 Vipaava was invaded by Clan Ghost Bear at part of Operation REVIVAL, the Clan invasion of the Inner Sphere, during the fourth wave of attacks. The invading forces were drawn from the Fourteenth Battle Cluster, which deployed Alpha Battle Star of the 23rd Battle Trinary and Alpha Nova Star of the 76th Supernova to capture the planet. The Ghost Bear forces issued a batchall to the defending 22nd Rasalhagian Free Company, a mixed unit of one 'Mech company and two infantry regiments, who agreed to the challenge and to meet at the Lion's Den, a rock outcropping well away from the nearest cities and towns. Suspecting a trap, the Ghost Bear warriors were surprised to find the defending the Twenty-second not only waiting to engage them at the agreed-upon location, but then fought in an honorable fashion. Alpha Nova Star engaged the Twenty-second first and swiftly decimated the KungsArmé forces, forcing the survivors to surrender. The defeat of the Twenty-second was a major factor in convincing senior officers in the KungsArmé that winning a straight fight against Clan forces was impossible, and that new tactics would be needed.[30]
