Planetary History

Clan Invasion

During the Clan Invasion in April 3050 the planet was attacked by forces of Clan Smoke Jaguar. At the time it was defended by the Seventh Hell's Brigade, a mercenary unit composed of two 'Mech companies and a battalion of infantry. The mercenaries were actually in the midst of evacuating the planet when two units of the 225th Jaguar Battle Cluster, Trinary Assault and Alpha Elemental Star, landed right on top of them. For several hours a desperate and uneven fight played out in the open fields surrounding Port Shianty until a pair of Elemental Points seized control of the Brigade's DropShips. A final ill-fated attempt was made by the Brigade to recapture their only hope of escape, resulting in most of the unit destroyed.[31]

Operation BULLDOG

Virentofta was invaded in the second wave of Operation BULLDOG by the First Federated Suns Armored Cavalry, ComStar's Thirty-first Division, Stirling's Fusiliers, and the Northwind Hussars. The defending Clan Smoke Jaguar 151st Garrison Cluster quickly fell to superior enemy firepower.[32]
