The Thirteenth Principes Guards was founded from personnel recruited from the planets Capolla and Keid after recruiting efforts on both worlds produced a significant response. The Thirteenth saw relatively little combat between the regiment's founding and 3145, but the Thirteenth was considered to be both an adequately performing unit and a unit with a strong sense of loyalty to the Republic of the Sphere. By 3145 the Thirteenth had been assigned to protect the vital defense industries located on the key Republic world of Epsilon Eridani.[1]
In 3149 the second battalion of the Thirteenth was stationed on Terra Firma when the 1st McCarron's Armored Cavalry and Warrior House Ijori landed on the world. Airstrikes from the First MAC forced the Thirteenth to hold a position and then Warrior House Ijori hunted them down.[2]
