The XI Hastati Sentinels (also known as the Eleventh Hastati) were formed after the creation of Fortress Republic. The Eleventh was formed from veterans of the Republic/Draconis Combine border in Prefectures II and III. The soldiers transferred from the II Triarii Protectors in particular provided experience to the Eleventh. The veterans of the Second Protectors harbored an intense hatred of the Combine, and this attitude infected the rest of the Eleventh as well.[1]
The Eleventh was stationed on Imbros III in 3145.[2]
The Eleventh announced their presence to the Inner Sphere by landing on Lyons in 3149 and forcing the Third Falcon Velites off the world.[3] The Eleventh was later assigned to Operation ERUPTIO's Second Army Group, where they landed on Towne and seized the working HPG. They then moved on to Addicks to face the 4th Dieron Regulars alongside the XI Triarii Protectors, XI Principes Guards, and the 2nd Fides Defenders. The Eleventh Sentinels engaged in a headhunter mission against the Fourth, eventually killing Tai-sa Gerald Nixon.[4]
After Operation ERUPTIO, the Eleventh moved to Thorin. In November 3149 they faced the Jade Falcons alongside the XI Principes Guards. The Republic units were quickly overrun by the Falcons after their support units and access to the planet's Castle Brian was destroyed. No survivors are known.[5]
