Description[edit]

A Clan-operated Solaris VII stable, the stable was named after the Clan tradition of zellbrigen. Only Clan Warriors are eligible to be members of this stable. The stable is based in Cathay.[1]

History[edit]

Zellbrigen Stables was formed in 3062[1] by disgruntled Clan Jade Falcon warriors from their embassy based in the Cathay section of Solaris City. Several of these warriors challenged a number of Solaris contenders to publicized duels to vent their frustrations of being stationed on Solaris VII. The Falcons disdained the glamorization of dueling and wanted to prove their superiority over mere "showmen" like the warriors of Solaris. Zellbrigen Stables' victories in these matches reaped the stable fame and respect. However, the stable's members were unable to handle the glamorous lifestyle that comes with fighting on Solaris, and even worse, they could not adapt to the less-glamorous deal-making side of the business. The stable was on the brink of collapse after its first matches until Marcin Hammond, a Bloodnamed warrior from Clan Diamond Shark who had since retired and joined the Merchant Caste, stepped in and took over the "management" of the stables.

Since taking over the administration side of Zellbrigen Stables' operations, Hammond stabilized its situation and allowed it to prosper. Since then, warriors from various Clans have appeared in matches under the Zellbrigen Stables banner. At some point, the Prowler BattleMech was designed for the stable.[2] By late 3067, an unofficial rivalry had sprung up between Zellbrigen Stables and the Huntsmen Stables.[3]

The Jihad hit the stable hard, and in the post-Word of Blake Solaris only three pilots were left fighting for Zellbrigen Stables.[4] Even through this hardship, the stable survived into the Dark Age, with one of their Gladiators, Ronald Ghost Bear, becoming a two-year consecutive winner of the Grand Championship.[5]

Stablemasters and Owners[edit]

  • Marcin Hammond handled the deal-making and day-to-day leadership of the stables, though he never identified himself as stablemaster.[4][3]
