--- Grossing a whopping 30,000 Tons and costing well north of half a billion C-Bills, the Grand Wing Class DropShip is a highly specialized Fighter Carrier produced in 3055 for use in Operation: BULLDOG to serve as a counter to Clan Smoke Jaguar's Miraborg Class DropShips. Carrying two full wings of AeroSpace Fighters and 12 Small Craft, the Grand Wing Class was equipped with a special bridge twice the size of a normal one. This allowed her to devote a whole bridge to fighter operations, as well as allowing her to keep fighting even if she took a hit or two to one or the other. A second set of fuel pumps and three thousand tons worth of dedicated liquid storage for her fighter's fuel gave each craft about 80 Tons of fuel to work with, while three 800 Ton Cargo Bays gave each of her two decks access to about 50 tons of ammo, parts, etc. per craft.

--- Each of these Cargo Bays could be accessed from a door on the nose of the vessel, as well as a loading ramp located aft. Furthermore, each of these bays shared a central a cargo lift that ran the length of the ship, as well as sporting a cargo lift of their own. As such, the Grand Wing Class could load fighters and small craft into it's bays via ramp, a feature that it shares with the Hamilcar DropShip that was built a year earlier. The Grand Wing's fighter bays also sport an unorthodox feature found in the contemporary Okinawa, namely that they are used for both launch & recovery, as opposed to separate bays for each. These similarities are not deliberate, however, and are merely coincidence.

--- The crew numbers of the Grand Wing Class were determined as such so that, in the words of her designer, "I want this ship to be able to be maintained by braindead monkeys barely working half a shift apiece." And as such, the Grand Wing Class can be properly maintained with Officers of Skill 3, Gunners of Skill 2, and Crew of Skill 1 pulling 50 hour work weeks... no small feat for such a large ship. Furthermore, additional steerage class accommodation is made for 72 extra pilots, giving the Grand Wing Class a ratio of 2.5 pilots per ship. This allows her to rotate fatigued pilots out, improving sortie efficiency.

--- Each of the Grand Wing's firing arcs is clad in more than twenty tons of armor, with the entire ship clad in a grand total of eighty two tons of the stuff. A light, but effective armament helps to deter enemy AeroSpace Assets in support of the Grand Wing's primary mission profile, with sixteen LRM-5s and an equal number of Medium Lasers located equatorially on the ship. These are complimented by a trio of LRM-20s in the nose, as well as a trio of LRM-15s in the aft, which themselves are supported by a trio of PPCs. Every LRM launcher is supplied with enough ammo for twenty four volleys, while the energy weapons are supported by the addition of redundant heat sinks. The vessel's power plant affords it a safe thrust of 1.5 Gs, and a max thrust of 2.5 Gs while four hundred and fifty tons of fuel are enough for eight months worth of 1 G burn.

--- The flight decks of the Grand Wing are located equatorially, stacked one over the other and arranged with a an offset to allow for the LRM-5s and Medium Lasers to be mounted. The LRM-20s are mounted in between the nose doors of the Cargo Bays, with their ammo bins behind them. The LRM-5s are similar in that their ammo bins are located behind the launchers themselves, while each bay of two is mounted to either side of a Medium Laser Bay. A 750 Ton Cargo Bay is located inside the belly of the ship, just above the drive, while the bridges, controls, living areas, etc. are located in the space above the flight decks, in between the cargo bays of course. A trio of personnel lifts runs along the outside of the main cargo bays, flanked on either side by access corridors and extending all the way from the drive to the nose. Three airlocks are located at the nose, with each one above one of the personnel lifts, but not directly connected to it. Thus one would need to step off the lift and then access the airlock to use it.
