The MS-1A looks like a missile launcher on legs, with a ball for a head and cockpit. This crazy, half-assed design created by Shiro's Wyverns shows what money, time, and too much Mechwarrior Fifty-Six: Mercenaries can do to a team of techs. Reiyou Shiro, the unit's current CO, simply shook his head and backed away quietly out of the mech bay. The techs, apparently, when questioned about the validity of the design, said they had talked to Johnson's Mechworks INC.

Central Command has quarantined the techs until further notice.

Hm...I feel insulted...all my "turret" 'Mechs at least have decent staying power

Nasty surprise if it fires "point-blank" from hiding tho. *shudder*

The whole fact that you're unloading 160 missiles on someone definitely has its fear factor.

I wish I could slap in more ammo though.

Easily done...just remove some of the armour...max armour is kinda wasted when you're not gonna be in the fight for long anyway. You could easily afford to lose a ton, 2 tons less would still leave you with better coverage than most 'Mechs in existence.

And Kamikaze, when is EIGHT turns not long? That's long around here, even with IS tech. Then again, most AC/20s will quiet down things rather fast.

Most heavies can stand for about 8-10 turns against any stock heavy/assault 'Mech, barring lucky shot placement. Any 'Mech, especially a 100-tonner, can burn through 8 shots before it dies as long as it isn't drawing fire from the start. In my design challenges, especially 2-on-2 adn Free-for-All battles, 'Mechs with less than 10 rounds' worth of ammo frequently ran low and lost because of it. Extended campaigns make abundant ammo stocks even more important. I tend to design for large battles rather than duels, which means I generally prefer at least 15 shots per weapon.

I'm just saying, fights around where I live generally run for 4-5 turns... Even with 100-tonners.

Ah yes, gotta love combined fire. Even then, This could be a Solaris Mech, just drop two tons of armor for two tons of ammo.
So, if 10 tons of ammo isn't good enough... The other guy is doing something other then praying for the match to end.


And in other news, someone on CBT.com made a 65 tonner that could shoot 500 missiles in one turn... and that's why, folks, I hate the Rocket Launcher series of weapons, as the guy loaded himself down with RL 10s and a single ER Medium Laser.
