------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ==Overview:== The Marauder MAD-16R is a prototype variant undergoing testing, with only a single mech so far produced.
The familiar dual PPC armament of the Marauder is replaced with a quad set of Light PPCs, two in each arm. The common autocannon mounted on the torso is replaced with a compact ER PPC. Two standard medium lasers provide close protection, with a small pulse laser mounted under the cockpit as an infantry deterent. PPC capacitors attached to the ER PPC and a single Light PPC in each arm provide an additional punch.
An extra-light engine is used to propel the mech to over 80 kilometers per hour. 16 double heatsinks are installed to disspate the hellish heat generated by the weapon systems. Triple strength myomer is utilized to take advantage of the mechs extreme heat curve.
One can easily look at the MAD-16R's arms to easily distinguish it from other Marauders. Technicians were required to rebuild the weapon mount in a double over single configuration to fit the two Light PPCs and medium laser in a small frame, along with a PPC Capacitor underneath and mid forearm.
It should also be noted from this equipment set up, the techs were able to install a secondary shunt from the capacitor to the second Light PPC. This allows the new Marauder to fire a single charged shot should the primary LPPC be destroyed. Afterwards, safety overrides shutdown the damaged LPPC and capacitor to prevent further damage.
(Game notes: Should an arm mounted capacitor be charged before the correpsonding LPPC be destroyed, the player may elect to fire the remaining charge out the secondary LPPC. The capacitor may no longer be allowed to charge afterwards. Should both LPPCs be destroyed, the charge is dissapated at the end phase.)

I was thinking, "how could I get more PPCs on a Marauder?" I could just add another PPC or two, but as that would pretty much be another form of the Awesome or Maskari. So I went with LPPCs and a single ER PPC. With about the same punch as an original Marauder, I added some capacitors for additional damage. A faster speed along with triple strength myomer to make things interesting. The Sm pulse laser is mostly fluff. I think I'd rather replace it and squeeze in one additional heatsink to get a little more use out of high heatscale.
